Emirates business class is one of the best ways to fly long-haul across the Atlantic. It offers a unique experience, including a full bar, shower spas, and endless amenities.
The airline is reimagining its flagship A380 aircraft with new interiors and comfortable seats. Cream tones and textured bronze waves accentuated by a motif of the UAE’s national tree, the Ghaf, are among the highlights.
In-flight Entertainment
Emirates has one of the most impressive in-flight entertainment systems around. It offers thousands of movies, TV shows, music albums, and games to keep passengers entertained.
The business class cabin features a large LCD screen and tablet for entertainment. Each seat is also equipped with a hand-held remote that lets you select different programs or control the volume of your music.
There are also audio-video on-demand (AVOD) programs that let you pause, rewind, or fast-forward a show or movie that you are watching. This is a much better option than older IFE systems that don’t offer any interactivity.
Video games are another emerging facet of in-flight entertainment. These games are often networked and allow multiple passengers to play.
These game systems usually include a variety of mini-games and trivia. They also sometimes include language learning applications to help passengers learn a new language.
This in-flight entertainment system was a great way to pass the time on my 10-hour flight from JFK to Milan. It has a lot of cool features like the blue water on the screen and a handset console with a bunch of cool functions. The headphones are also a great feature that cancels noise and is pretty comfortable, although I wasn’t really that fond of them.
Seats
Emirates is one of the most luxurious airlines in the world, offering passengers a range of luxuries onboard its Airbus A380s. The airline’s business class seats, available on both the A380 and Boeing 777, are among the most comfortable in the industry.
The emirates a380 business class cabin is comprised of 76 seats, all with aisle access in a 1-2-1 configuration. Seats have plenty of legroom and are a good choice for couples traveling together.
Another great thing about the a380 business class is that it offers a spacious lie-flat bed. This means that you can get a good night’s rest during your trip, which is especially important when flying to Europe or other long-haul destinations.
It also features a small open minibar, a bottled water dispenser, USB ports, and 110v outlets. There are also iPad-style IFE screens that allow you to access thousands of hours of entertainment in multiple languages.
The seats in the a380 business class are slightly smaller than those on the Boeing 777, but they are still quite generous in terms of legroom. They’re also more comfortable, thanks to adjustable leather headrests that can be moved up and down for added comfort.
Bathrooms
Emirates is the only airline that offers a shower spa on its superjumbos, a facility that further complements the luxury bar and lounge. It’s the sort of premium travel experience that most regular air passengers can’t find anywhere else, so it’s no surprise that the carrier pioneered the concept when it first started flying its Airbus A380 superjumbos.
When you step into one of these shower spas’, you’ll be welcomed by a member of the cabin crew. They’ll then confirm that your preferred time is available, and give you a brief rundown of how to use the facilities.
The bathrooms are spacious enough for two people to use, and they offer a shaver socket and mirror as well. They also feature a hair dryer.
You’ll also find a robe to keep you warm, and toiletries that include soap, hand lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. A ‘travel hygiene kit’ is also provided, with a variety of masks, gloves, and sanitizer.
In addition to this, each suite comes with a brimming snack basket, filled with chocolate, snacks, mints, and wellness tablets. It’s also replenished throughout your stay.
Food
Emirates is known for its high-quality food, and business class passengers are no exception. The airline uses Royal Doulton fine bone china with custom-made Robert Welch cutlery for meals and offers a variety of Arabic mezze appetizers and champagne breakfasts.
For the main meal, a three-course selection is offered, and each course is served with a crisp salad, fruit, dessert, and beverage of choice. The menus vary depending on the destination.
The meal service on the emirates a380 business class is exceptional, and it makes for a truly luxurious experience. It starts with pre-departure refreshments of bread, cheese, and fruit as well as soft drinks or juices before a hot meal is served around three hours after takeoff.
In between, guests can indulge in a range of snacks and drinks from the bar or snack selection. The bar is always staffed and has a wide selection of beverages including red or white wine and champagne.
On this particular flight, I opted for a Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, which was a good choice as it is one of my favorites. It was also very fresh and aromatic.
Service
Emirates is known for its outstanding service, especially in first class. There are a few exceptions, but in general, the attendants go above and beyond to ensure that every passenger is taken care of.
The service in business class isn’t as personal as at first, but it’s still good. In addition, the seats are a lot more comfortable than those in the economy.
When you board, a flight attendant will direct you to the stairs that are located on the upper deck of the aircraft. You will then be escorted to your seat and introduced by an air hostess. This is a fantastic experience and really helps to get you excited about the flight ahead of you.
If you want to relax, Emirates has an incredible in-flight entertainment system called ICE. It offers a wide selection of entertainment including movies, games, and documentaries. It also has live TV including BBC World News, so you can keep up to date with what’s happening across the globe.
One of the best things about Emirates’ business class is that they offer lie-flat beds, which are very nice. You’re provided with a thick mattress pad and a blanket when you need to sleep. This makes the seat feel much more like a bed than just a seat.
